Paper Porcelain – Creating with Light

Paper porcelain is a fascinating technique that combines the purity of porcelain with the lightness of cellulose, allowing for the creation of thin and delicate surfaces that beautifully enhance the passage of light. During the course, we will discover how to prepare this special clay body ourselves by mixing porcelain with paper fibres, then rolling it out into thin sheets that can be shaped and modelled. From these surfaces, each participant will create two original and personal lamps, experimenting with shapes, textures, reliefs and transparencies. After high-temperature firing, the porcelain will reveal all its delicacy, translucency and luminosity. During the final session, we will also learn how to assemble all the electrical components needed to make the lamps work. A course to discover a unique and surprising technique and transform a delicate material into unique and poetic objects of light.

The course is open to adults and young people aged 15 and over and requires no previous experience.
