Giovanni Cimatti

Giovanni Cimatti is a lecturer at the State Art Institute for Ceramics in Faenza. He previously taught at the Art Institute of Siena and served as director of the “T. Minardi” School of Drawing and Sculpture in Faenza. He began his artistic activity in the 1970s, developing a personal research into the relationship between form and surface and experimenting with various techniques, including sangam decoration, raku, and decalcomania.

He has been invited to Japan for a solo exhibition and cultural exchanges, and to Korea for seminars at major universities. He has also delivered illustrated lectures and ceramics courses in the United States, France, Belgium, and Switzerland. He has worked as a designer for Nuova Ceramica Faenza and collaborated with the “Giocare con l’Arte” workshop at the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza. His works are included in numerous museums and international publications.
