The main objective of the workshop is to shape the clay directly by hand, without using tools. In this way, it becomes possible to communicate directly with the clay and convey one’s feelings.
Using the “throwing” technique, we will create textured slabs, square, flat and rectangular filaments, and rocky textures using pigmented bisque pieces. We will apply pigments and glazes, both powder and liquid, to the clay while it is still damp, so that only one firing is needed. We will discover how all these techniques can be applied not only to sculpture, but also to functional ceramics.
In this workshop, I want to tell stories of hope through our pieces, starting from absolute freedom and improvisation, without becoming obsessed with technique.
The workshop takes place over the course of the full day, with a short lunch break from 12:30 to 1:00 pm.
Course language: Spanish with simultaneous translation (italian)
